Bennett Sharp is on the run.
Wanted for piracy, she fears neither God nor death nor man.
Except Priest Farrell.
The unfaithful, stormy-eyed libertine hunts her with terrifying possessiveness. Nothing will stop him from coming for her. Not his unforgivable betrayal. Not when she’s captured by the ice-cold pirate hunter, Lord Ashley Cutler.
She must escape Ashley’s prison and Priest’s deceit. But can she walk away from their twisted desires?
Two gorgeous captains stand on opposite sides of the law. When they collide in a battle to protect her, the lines blur between enemies and lovers.
Passion heats, secrets unravel, and hearts entangle until they break.
Can love prevail in the sea of ruin?
So I was reluctant to start this book because I’m not really a fan of historical romances or pirate romances for that matter. However, I had heard SO MANY good things about this book that I had to give it a read.
SO FREAKING HAPPY I DID! Wow, what a freaking story. Within the first 6 chapters, I had a good laugh and felt severe heartbreak, severe pain, and severe anxiety.
The Story
Bennett is a second-generation pirate that was thrust into the life after tragically losing both parents in the same day. At 14, she’s taken under the wing of her fathers’ confidant and learns the ways of the pirate life before taking over the ship her father left her.
At 21, she’s been through a full life – she’s encountered heartbreak, success, and marriage. She gets her heartbroken and has been running ever since – but her running comes to a halt when she’s captured by a British Naval Captain. Despite his initial treatment, she quickly develops feelings for her captor.
Let’s Talk About (the) Sex, Baby!

This book is HOT HOT HOT. This is a Historical Erotic Romance and there are some really hot and some very dark scenes in here. I don’t want to give too much away.
The temperature of our licking grew hotter, more carnal, and soon the air dripped with fire, spitting sparks across my skin. I wanted to slow it down, to savor the moment and capture the intimacy.
Please note that there may be some triggers including non-consensual sex and cheating.
The Writing
FUCKING. BRILLIANT. From start to finish, you’re thrust into the 1700s – not just because Godwin tells you that’s when it’s happening but with every word and every location YOU’RE IN THE 1700s.
We were joined by sparks that coalesced one entity, drawn together like magnets, bound by an invisible force.
