This book is not the story of one woman who helps four lost souls redeem themselves. This book is about crazy finding their complementary crazy. It’s about how one woman was able to find the match for the deepest parts of her soul in 4 different scary, crazy, psychotic men.
If you’re a lover of DARK (like the darkest of the dark) and don’t mind gore, you HAVE to read this book. It was SO FREAKING GOOD.
I was attracted to this book because of the stunning cover (I mean, come on!), but had no idea what to expect. I did read the synopsis but there’s no way to actually prepare yourself for what you’re about to read.
If this book wasn’t on your radar, or was not on your TBR, I’d suggest changing that PRONTO!
*Please note that if you have triggers for violence, self-harm, BDSM, blood, and/or gore, this book is not for you.*
There is a gang that runs the city and they refer to themselves as The Vipers. When they walk into a room, everyone basically bows at their feet. They own the cops, they own the criminals, and if you owe them, they will come to collect.
Roxy is running a local bar that was gifted to her by the man she considers a father. Her real father, who she is estranged from, has a run in with The Vipers, and as payment for his debt, he offers the vicious Vipers his daughter Roxy.
But Roxy doesn’t go quietly – she beats off the first round of captors and her second visit is from the Vipers themselves – ensuring she gets transferred to their watch.
As the 5 live together, and they all start to spend more time together, they quickly learn that their psychotic is complementary to Roxy’s psychotic.
Roxy: Roxy is the most BADASS character ever. First, she’s tough as shit and doesn’t allow anyone to walk all over her. Again, sometimes badass characters can be overly done – almost annoying – but Knight dances the fine line of badass, psycho, independent, and still vulnerable in her development of Roxy.
Diesel: Diesel is the biggest loose cannon of the group but he’s also the one who wears his heart on his sleeve. The first time he sees Roxy, he becomes absolutely obsessed and is convinced they will marry. He’s the torturer of the group and has an obsession with making people bleed and burn,
Garrett: Garrett is the most normal of the group. He’s had a long term relationship in the past but his ex was a master manipulator and hurt him so much that he refused to be touched by women. He’s the muscle of the group – the leader of their security and when he’s not protecting his brother’s, he’s fighting in underground fighting rings.
Kenzo: Kenzo is the joker of the group. He grew up with an abusive and powerful father along with his real brother (Ryder), but still seems to have a smile on his face, despite being a bad-ass mother fucker. He’s the winker, the smiler, and knows when to push people to open up.
Ryder: Ryder is the self-proclaimed leader. He takes on the stress of the entire “family”, doesn’t take a day off, and runs the legitimate businesses for the Vipers.
Let’s Talk About (the) Sex, Baby!
This book is four “love” stories in one. Each male character has their own sexual proclivity and Roxy is ALL FOR IT (pun intended). There’s bloody, torture sex, there’s BDSM, there’s violent sex, and every other kind of sex you can think of.
Your Kindle will be burning from how hot this book is!
Overall, I thought the book was amazing. It’s a little long but keep in mind, it’s four different tropes, four different stories in one. I did feel like we could have shaved off the last few chapters but do you think I’m mad that there’s more hot sex? Absolutely not.
